Capital Air Ambulance accredited by International Assistance Group

Capital Air Ambulance has been appointed an Accredited service Provider within the International Assistance Group, the world’s largest alliance of independent assistance companies and providers.

Since its creation in 1992, International Assistance Group (IAG) has grown from a small non-profit association into the world’s largest alliance of over 140 independently owned assistance companies, service providers, and correspondents, dedicated exclusively to cross-border collaboration on behalf of insurers and travellers. Its network supports over 123 million end-users worldwide and collectively manages a total of 7.8 million assistance cases per year.

Capital Air Ambulance is now the UK’s largest air ambulance provider. Founded in 1991, Capital offers rapid, global-response medical repatriation services, using its dedicated fleet of air and ground ambulances and highly trained medical teams - providing the ultimate bed-to-bed service and guaranteed peace of mind for those who are injured or taken ill abroad.

Capital’s Medical Director Simon Forrington said: “I am delighted that Capital has attained accredited status in such a globally respected organisation. Our growing fleet and partnerships with other IAG accredited providers, such as AMREF Flying Doctors, will provide us with increased exposure to the international traveller market, ensuring we can support insurance companies, brokers and individual travellers wherever and whenever they need us.”
